For those who may not know John Radich’s name, he has been a high-caliber ultrarunner for about 30 years, with good finishes in the Trans-Europe race, several Sydney to Melbourne (1,000+ km) finishes, 430 miles in six days, high Badwater placings and so on.
John recently ran and won the Arizona 6 Day Race, held in Douglas, Arizona, an event with temperatures hovering above 85 degrees, strong desert winds and 4,000 feet of elevation gain. The course challenged all of the runners each and every day and resulted in inspiring feats and several age records set.
Amazing acts of courage and perseverance were witnessed throughout the event. One of those amazing acts included John’s effort, wherein he managed to win his fourth Arizona 6 Day Race with a distance of 321 miles covered in the allotted time.
